- A small group of ‘privileged’ holiday home owners at Guilderton are opposing all development south of the township to stop ‘overcrowding’.
- They are asking Western Australian taxpayers to fund the acquisition of the Moore River South land by the Government for a national reserve.
- Most of these people live in Perth, not Guilderton.
- This proposition is breathtaking in its arrogance and hypocrisy – seeking to protect their own
‘Shangri-La’ to the exclusion of others - and wanting the WA taxpayer to subsidise them!
- Their opposition to development is self serving and has no credibility in terms of environmental considerations.
- It is the fundamental right of all Western Australians to lawfully and responsibly develop their land.
